Innovative system for the side protection of the head
in crashes and continual, violent vibration. The DCT,
manufactured and patented by SPARCO, is a revolutionary
solution, which involve complex structures between the
head and the shoulder. It offers considerable advantages:
light weight (less than 900g) - differentiated resistance
to lateral blows: more than 15 G - adjustable position
according to the driver's height for improved alignment
of the helmet and lateral visibility - upholstery in
elastomeres with differentiated densities. The characteristics
of the elastomeres and the elastic modulus of the composite
structure opposes deflection inversely proportional
to the force of the blow. The efficiency of this solution
has been tested repeatedly, in the design stages and
during homologation, with the help of special films
which show the movements of the model's head in slow
motion, and emphasise the exceptional characteristics
of the DCT. The DCT is homologated and can be installed
on all the SPARCO seats in carbon (produced since 1996):
